The Big Burscough Survey - Results
Burscough Parish Neighbourhood Plan
Burscough Parish Council is working on the preparation of a Neighbourhood Plan for the area. It is essential that we seek the local community’s views to help inform us of the issues that the Neighbourhood Plan should seek to address. The Neighbourhood Plan, once drafted, will be subject to public consultation, examination by an independent examiner and finally a referendum. The latter stage will allow people to vote on whether they wish the Neighbourhood Plan to become part of the statutory development plan along with the West Lancashire Local Plan, which would then be used to make decisions on future planning applications in the parish.
On the 11th April the Parish Council published ‘The Big Burscough Survey’. It was distributed to households within the Champion newspaper and was also on-line on the Council’s website. The survey was open for people to complete until 6th May.
A total of 501 survey forms were completed and returned. This represents 13% of the total number of households in the Parish. The survey results below provide a summary of the responses provided to the various questions in the Survey.
