If you are between 14 & 19 years old and want to change things in Burscough, get in touch and be part of making it happen.
Burscough Parish Council has already set aside £30,000 towards the development of facilities for young people – that could be for a youth shelter or towards a skateboard park or other facilities that people between 14 and 19 want, but we need young people to work with us to design and plan what is needed. Burscough Parish Council wants to encourage more activities and things to do for young people, but we can’t do that for you - we need your help and involvement to know what is wanted.
Too old for kids stuff – Too young for Pubs? Please help make Burscough a Great Place for Everyone – Come to the Grove, 7pm on Tuesday 25th April 2017 To book your place or find out more, email admin@burscoughpc.org.uk, text 07518 347 559, or call Tess at the Parish Council Office 01704 894914 WE CAN’T DO IT WITHOUT YOU After a long wait, Burscough's Clock is now being repaired.
The clock, like most of the street furniture in Burscough Bridge has up to now been owned by West Lancs Borough Council and not by the Parish Council - hence, the repair therefore fell to the Borough Council to fund. Some time ago the Parish Council agreed to take ownership of the clock if the Borough Council would pay to bring it back into good repair. Finally, WLBC have found the £2000.00 needed for the replacement movement and the repair is now going ahead. A future maintenance contract will be in the region of £250 to £300 per annum and there will still be work to do at some point in replacing the images on the column which have deteriorated with age. This will need to be paid for from the precept paid by local residents. |
