Burscough Parish Council and VISIT Sefton and West Lancashire are joining forces with partners to launch the first Burscough Heritage Walking Festival in June 2014. The walks will be a key part of the Burscough Heritage Week.
Everyone is welcome to join us. All of the walks will be free and guided. There is no need to book, just turn up on the day. Each walk will take a different theme with the aim to include some places you cannot normally visit. These include a visit to the last Boatman’s Mission in Britiain, a Tin Tabenacle. Alternatively explore the military history of Burscough’s WWII former Royal Navy air station, HMS Ringtail with a local military historian or discover the history of the Leeds Liverpool Canal, its people and how they lived and worked.
Enjoy a visit to the Merseyside Transport Trust which has probably the country's most representative preserved collection from a municipal bus fleet. With a free bus ride back to Burscough on a classic bus.
