The Environment Agency is organising several tours of Crossens Pumping Station on Tuesday 19 August 2014. The tours are a great opportunity for anyone who would like to see the old diesel pumps before we replace them with new, more efficient electric pumps. We’ll also explain what the pumping station does and how it works.
Work to replace the old pumps and refurbish the pumping station will start in the autumn. The Environment Agency will be spending £4.9 million on the refurbishment.
The tours will last for about an hour each and are at the following times:
Please make sure you book onto a specific tour, as the number of people who can fit into the pumping station is limited.
Unfortunately, for health and safety reasons, we cannot include anyone under 18 on the tour. We also recommend that you wear appropriate footwear for your tour, such as flat shoes with a good grip. .
